The process of making art fuels my imagination. Anything that I encounter on a daily basis is fair game for ideas, colors, textures, and art materials. Layers of acrylic, images, and graphite generally work their way into my art. Somewhere along the way the title and direction of the piece is revealed to me. A fascination with the mentality and influences of the 1950's housewife appear constantly in my work along with cryptic references to my innermost secrets. Graphic Design and a BFA from Sam Houston State began my professional artistic career. After a time in corporate art departments and ad agencies I transitioned into being an educator, and picked up an MA at Lamar University in visual art and an MFA in painting at Stephen F. Austin. After doing 3 years as a resident at Hardy Nance Studios in Houston, Texas I now make the short journey to my backyard and a teal green studio where the magic happens.
